Phillip VanNostrand Obituary
He was born Nov. 10th, 1951 in Gloversville, NY, the son of the late Phillip and Irene Sofka VanNostrand. He attended Meco School and graduated from Mayfield High School. He entered the US Army in 1971 during the draft and was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam as a custodian prior to his retirement.
He leaves behind his 3 children, Desiree, Hannah, and Phillip, his Step children Sarah and John, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, Philip and Irene, he was predeceased by his siblings, John, Marie and Rose. He is survived by Joanne Ponzi and her family who always took time and shared special occasions, hunting, fishing, and camping trips together.
He was a solitary man who enjoyed the quiet beauty of nature, foraging, and long rides while listening to country music. Often accompanied by his faithful companion "Buddy" who rode shotgun.
The family is being cared for by A.G.Cole Funeral Home. At this time, Phil's family has chosen to remember his life privately.
