Ronald Wilson Obituary

Ronald Edwin Wilson, 78, of Dagsboro, Delaware and formerly a long-time resident of Westminster, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware following a brief illness. Born September 25, 1946 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin Bohn and Marie Alice (Myers) Wilson. He was the loving husband of Susan Marie (Crabbs) Wilson, his devoted wife of 58 years. Ron grew up in Westminster, Maryland, where he met the love of his life. He was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1964. In 1965, at a dance at the Armory, Susie caught his eye. Never one to back down from a challenge, Ron pursued Susie and they were married on December 4, 1966. From 1966-1972 Ron served in the United States Army National Guard. He was the proud owner of United Used Cars, Inc. on Green Street, a used car dealership started by his father. In 2015, Ron retired, leaving the family business to continue its legacy with his son, Kevin. Ron loved sports of all kinds. He was a talented pool shooter. He helped found the Carroll County Chargers semi-professional football team. During the 70's Ron enjoyed organizing and hosting the WAM dances. From 1979-1985 he was a supporter of Westminster Little League Baseball. In 1979, and every year since, he hosted a Super Bowl party for the local business community. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Colts, Ravens, Orioles and the Maryland Terrapins. He enjoyed attending games, especially with his sons and good friend, Pete Samios. In his later years, he watched games from the comfort of his recliner and loved commentating those games with his grandson, Braden. Ron also loved to play checkers with his grandson, Christian, though he was never quite able to win. Ron's greatest joy was the large family he built. Surviving in addition to his wife, are children: Kevin Wilson and wife Nicole, Anjanette Runser, and Eric Wilson and wife Mattie; Grandchildren Victoria, Maislee and husband Codey, Braedon and fiancé Nicole, Brenna, Braden, Anabelle, Violet, Bonnie, and Christian; Great Grandchildren Cassius, Caliyah, Amir, Marlow, Cameron, and Nora; Brother-in-law Gary Crabbs and wife Linda, niece Kristy Edwards; a cousin, who he thought of as a sister, Pat Burnett and husband Ted; Cousins Terry, Olivia, Tommy, Paula, and Bruce; and beloved dog "Zane." He was predeceased by nephew Brian Crabbs. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 9 to 12 Noon at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be private for family.
