It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Dale "Ronnie" Wright, age 75, of Quitman, Mississippi, on July 7, 2024. Ronnie passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment for his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ronnie was born on December 17, 1948, in Quitman, Mississippi, to Juanita and Glynn Wright. He graduated from Zach Huggins High School in 1966. In June 1973, Ronnie married Christine Renfroe, and they were blessed with two children, Scott and Katherine. Ronnie spent many years working in the family funeral home business, where his father instilled in him a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. This foundation led him to become an entrepreneur himself, enjoying serving the community through the Archusa Mini Mart. He shared his love of cooking for others by gathering friends with good food and filling the front entrance with as many rocking chairs as it would hold.
An avid outdoorsman, Ronnie particularly loved turkey hunting. His farm was his passion; he spent endless hours tending to his cattle, repairing fences, and baling hay. His favorite place on Earth was the cabin he built with his own hands, creating a space where he could bring together the people he loved. Over the years, many celebrations and gatherings, both big and small, took place within those walls, overlooking the breathtaking view of the pond.
Survivors include his loving wife, Christine Wright; his son, Scott Wright and wife, Elaine, of Collierville, TN; and his daughter, Katherine Little of Starkville, MS; and his grandchildren, Sarah Shelton Little and Jack Little; and older brother, Louie G. "Butch" Wright and wife, Diane, of Quitman.
Ronnie was known for his dedication to his family, his generosity, and his love for the outdoors. His farm and the cabin he built were testaments to his hard work and his desire to create a haven for his loved ones. He had a unique ability to bring people together and cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
Ronnie was a devoted husband, supportive father, and good friend to those who had the honor of earning his trust. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
