Ronnie Bailey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 20, 2026.
Ronnie El Bailey, 66, of Bronte, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2026 due to heart

complications and after courageously battling cancer for nearly two years. He faced every

challenge with strength and determination, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on April 28, 1959, in Aledo, Illinois, Ronnie grew up with a deep sense of curiosity and

creativity. He attended Winola High School and spent his youth involved in Boy Scouts and

the 4-H Club. In his 30s, Ronnie made the move to Texas, eventually settling in Bronte, where

he lived for more than 20 years and built a life full of love, purpose, and community.

Ronnie was born to Vaun and Joan Bailey, and was lovingly raised by his grandparents,

Maurice and Ina Young, along with his aunt, Nina McLaughlin. He is preceded in death by his

sister Robin. Ronnie's memory will forever be cherished by his sisters Julie of Illinois, Shawna

and Valory of Colorado, and by his sons Brian of Georgia and Ron Jr. of San Antonio, Texas.

In 2002, Ronnie married the love of his life, Phoebe, in the Philippines. Together, they created

a warm and joyful home in Bronte. He is loved and remembered by his stepdaughter Elaine

Mae, his stepson Kyle Eduard, and Kyle's wife, Rona Mae, and their daughter, Maddison Clair.

A true self-taught computer genius, Ronnie had an unmatched passion for technology. He

loved building computers from scratch-often working through the night-and proudly

assembled more than ten computers in just the last five years. His skills didn't end there.

Ronnie was also an excellent mechanic, knowledgeable in electrical work, and known for his

expertise as an LP gas technician. He worked as a professional truck driver and later retired

from the Goodyear Proving Ground in San Angelo about four years ago.

Ronnie had a special heart for animals. He is now reunited with his beloved dog and best

friend, Ayumi, who passed away last year. Tex, his loyal companion who rarely left his side, will

surely feel his absence. Ronnie also spent years caring for stray kittens, faithfully feeding and

nurturing them every day.

Ronnie was the kind of person who always helped others-whether they were friends, family,

or complete strangers. Above all, he was devoted to his wife, always willing to do anything for

her. His kindness, his wisdom, and his steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew

him.

Ronnie will be cremated and laid to rest in the Philippines.

Condolences may be shared with his family through their Facebook pages or sent to
