Ronnie Baker, 55, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on March 27, 1970, to Helen Gentry Baker and Leonard Leroy Baker, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Ronnie was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia. He called the Wollen Mills area home and could be found on the Rivanna River with his Granddad Baker from the young age of 3 fishing for Crappie. After graduating high school, Ronnie served his country proudly in the USMC. After Honorable Discharge from USMC, he moved to Mississippi to join the Electrical Union and raise two beautiful children. That career moved him to Texas with Newtron Industrial. Texas is where he met whom he called the love of his life, Dawn. They spent all of their free time with family and fishing. He could be found on Toledo Bend at Housen Bay with his grandkids fishing for Crappie. He was known as the Crappie Whisperer. He loved his family, the Corp and fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Lamb; wife, Dawn Baker; children, Caleb Baker and his wife, Isabella and Lauren Mitchell and her husband, Will; and those related by love not blood, Courtney James, Bree McGill and her husband, James, Hunter Rolison, Kennedy Louwerse, Kingston Louwerse, Lakelynn McGill, Gracie McGill, Jaxon McGill, and Waylon McGill; and John and Janice "Nanny" Avery; aunts, Rebecca Baker Morris, Viola Antwine, Bobbie Jordan, Pat Houchen; and numerous extended family, good friends, and coworkers through the years.

He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Gerald and Harriot Baker, Robert and Mattie Gentry; uncles, Chester Baker and Moses Gentry; and aunt, Ella Fortune.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Colon Cancer Coalition, 2950 Xenium Lane North, Suite 102, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55441 or the Colon Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 252, Chappaqua, New York 10514.

A gathering of Mr. Baker's family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium.
