Ronnie J. Daugherty, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the Hospice of Southern KY Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. Born on February 6, 1953 in Owensboro, KY, Ronnie lived a life filled with joy, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Ronnie graduated from BCHS in the class of 1971. After school, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to civilian life, Ronnie had a fulfilling career and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, an active member of his community, and a faithful servant of the Lord.
He is survived by a family that adored him: his son, Joshua R. Daugherty; daughters Stacye (Brad) Johnson and Dawn "DeeDee" (Jeremy) Overton; six grandchildren, Madison Wingo, Raigan Daugherty, Baylee Johnson, Ava Overton, Jaxten Overton, and Ryker Daugherty; and one great-grandson, Maddox Wingo. His sister, Reda (Richie) Seabolt, and three brothers, William "Bill" Daugherty, Jeffery (Laurie) Daugherty, and Rollie Daugherty Jr., along with several cherished nieces and nephews, also survive him. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie James and Dimple Moore Daugherty, and one brother, Roger Daugherty.
Those who knew Ronnie will remember him as a man with a heart of gold who was always ready with a warm smile and a genuine spirit of friendliness. A proud poppy, Ronnie's presence at his grandchildren's school and sporting events was a constant and joyful one. He lived his life as a testament to his love for the Lord, and this love shone through in his unwavering support and kindness towards his family and friends.
Ronnie was also widely recognized for enjoying his daily meals and fellowship at Kuntry Kitchen, where he was a staple figure. His dedication to his fellow servicemen was evident in his active membership at the VFW post 5837.
