Ronnie Joe DeWees

Ronnie Joe DeWees, 76, of Vega, TX died Saturday March 8, 2025.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Vega Methodist Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Ronnie was born in Amarillo, TX on March 31, 1948 to Jack W. DeWees and Sue Glasscock DeWees. He attended school in Vega, TX and graduated in 1966. He then went on to attend North Texas State University.

Ronnie married Brenda Carole Gilmore on May 30, 1970 in Amarillo, TX. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Ronnie worked for DeWees Farm and Ranch, DeWees Fertilizer, Caprock Flying Service, and Caprock Enterprises. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing, motorcycle racing, collecting classic cars, animals, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Ronnie was a member of the Shriner’s Masonic Lodge, Vega Methodist Church, and the Vega School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack W. DeWees and Sue Glasscock DeWees; and his sister, Jacalyn DeWees.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda DeWees; daughter, Breck Coker (Brent); son, Ryan DeWees (Shelby); sister, Billye Sue Newcomb; grandchildren; Klein Coker, Brinkley Coker, Anabelle Cline, Asher Cline, and Remington DeWees.
