Ronnie L. Haney, 75, of Stone Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.
Born on August 6, 1949, in the family home at Somerdale, he was a son of the late Richard and Ethel (Johnson) Haney.
Ronnie left high school to enlist in the US Army to serve in the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he began a career with ODOT as a project inspector. Always one to work, he also served as a Tuscarawas County Deputy Sheriff for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Rose (Shuman) Haney whom he married on March 18, 2006; his children, Kristine Haney of Uhrichsville, Ryan (Debbie) Haney of Gnadenhutten, Beth Farr of New Philadelphia, and Krystian Haney of Canton; step-children, John (Tracey) Eckstein III of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sarah (Brian) Cikity of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dilan Haney, Gracie Haney, Koy Haney, Trenton Haney, and Kameron Farr; step-grandchildren, Alex Eckstein, Tripp Cikity, and Archer Cikity; great-grandchildren, Remington Haney, and Ireland Haney; brother, David Haney; sisters, Theresa (David) Gilmore, and Susan Betche; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by numerous siblings.
The family will greet guests on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour before the funeral service in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Dr. Tom Hendershot officiating. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Ohio’s Western Reserve National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ronnie may be made to Ohio’s Hospice 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
