Funeral service for Ronnie Hoops, age 76 of Cumby, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. David Burns officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Jeff Baxter, Cody Monroe, Eron Hoops, Ray Jordan, Chad Crumpton, and Jordan Strickland will serve as pallbearers and Larry Harlan will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will have a private burial. Mr. Hoops passed away on December 13, 2025.
Ronnie was born on November 14, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Edward and Helen (Dickerson) Hoops. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Ronnie married Carol Douglas on January 8, 1973. He was in the flooring business for over 45 years and recently retired. He was an avid hunter and outdoors man. Ronnie was a long-time member of the Brashear Baptist Church. He was currently a member of Grace Family Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Rhonda Lambert and husband, Derek, and Shelly Bigham; son, Cary Hoops and wife, Rocki; grandchildren, Hunter, Caylor, Hayden, and Jordan; sisters, Connie Baxter and Sharon Sullivan and husband, Russell; brother, Steve Hoops and wife, Darla; brother-in-law, Bob Douglas; many nieces and nephews who all “loved their uncle Joe.”
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
