A Life Well Lived: A Husband and Father Beyond Measure

On October 28th, 2025 Ronnie “Sam” Jay Kallam passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ronnie was born November 14th, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Myrtle (Parnell) and Marion “Pete” Kallam. In his younger years Ronnie was proud to work alongside his dad to grow the Kal-An Asphalt company. Following his time working with his father, Ronnie moved on to work as a heavy equipment operator for Tulsa County where he met the love of life and future wife, Dusti. He later retired and settled into family life with his three children Tanner, Tyson, and Kolbi who were the highlight of his life. Ronnie loved nothing more than watching them enjoy life and grow into the amazing people they are today. Ronnie loved cheering them on from the sidelines of every game, performance, and Ag show. He always bragged about Tanner’s people skills, Tyson’s work ethic, and Kobli’s kind heart.

He enjoyed listening to Tanner’s persuasive speeches and watching him in all of his drama performances. He was always amazed by his ability to win an argument and knew Tanner would make a fine lawyer someday, even before Tanner did. Tyson was always Ronnie’s sidekick for all of their home projects and early morning fishing trips at the docks where they spent countless days making memories. Kolbi was always Ronnie’s go to partner in crime when it came to anything animal related as they shared a love for wildlife. As they spent many evenings watching the chickens, goats, cow, and deer in their yard, their bond grew stronger and stronger. There is no doubt that Ronnie would do anything for his kids and wanted nothing more than for them to be happy. Ronnie spent his best days hunting and fishing with his favorite people and telling the best stories from his countless adventures.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Dusti Kallam, his sons Tanner Kallam and Tyson Kallam, his daughter Kolbi Kallam, and his siblings Jack Kallam and Terry Heuszel. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Rodney J. Kallam, his brother Bud Kallam, his sister Cleava Flippo, and his brothers Larry Gene Kallam and Gary Don Kallam. Ronnie’s love of adventure, family, and the outdoors will live on in his loving children and wife.
