Ronnie A McGee, 75, of Mapleton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria, Illinois.
Ron was born on November 9, 1950, in Beardstown, Illinois, to Lenville and Violet Peacock McGee. He married Penny Burroughs on March 10, 1990, and she survives.
He is also survived by his son, Luke (Cara) McGee, daughter, Molly (Mark) Staehle, and son, Scott McGee. He had five beloved grandchildren. Further surviving are two brothers, Kenny McGee and Jack McGee, and brother-in-law, Paul, and sister-in-law, Patty Burroughs. His parents, his brother, Franky, and one infant brother, Curtis, preceded him in death.
Ron served in the United States Army as a medic from 1970 to 1972. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. from 1972 to 2002 at the Mossville Tech Center. He enjoyed hiking, golfing, the outdoors, and boating.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Mapleton Church, located at 9409 S. Powell Rd, Peoria, Illinois. There will be a meal to follow at Butler Haynes Park in the pavilion area from approximately 1 PM to 3 PM. Memorial contributions in Ron's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
