John E. Herington, 63, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital following a heroic battle with Cancer.
He was born on December 1, 1962, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert Herington and Sandra Gulick.
John is survived by his beloved daughter, Kassandra Herington of Peoria; his cherished grandsons, Noah Herington and Phoenix Herington-Robinson; and his siblings, Sandra Hardin, Lynn Horsley, Sherry Hill, Shelia Harris-Yarbrough, and Terry Lynn Knobeloch. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who cared for him deeply and will miss him greatly.
John worked at the Pere Marquette in Peoria, later at Sir Lionel Catering in Bartonville, and also provided snow removal services for Commercial Irrigation and Turf. Through his work, he developed and formed many lasting friendships.
John will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his ability to make anyone laugh with his dance moves, his love for fishing, and his love for "Da Bears". His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
