Ronald “Ronnie” Davis Payne, 83, of Thomasville, formerly High Point, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Piedmont Crossing Health.
Born October 28, 1942, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Howard Payne and the late Margaret Marshall Payne.
Ronnie was a 1962 graduate of High Point Central and a member of the Elks Lodge 1155 for 53 years. He was a hard worker and provider for his family, starting his work at the age of 7 on his great uncle’s tobacco farm and continued his working career until his retirement in 2020. He enjoyed collecting cans and mowing yards. He had a love for dogs, especially his grand-dog, Sadie.
Left to cherish his memory; his beloved wife, Correen Brooks Payne; daughters, Cindy Kennedy and husband Ronnie, and Gwen Payne; grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, Alexus and husband Chad's, Johnathan and Clavin; great grandchildren, Jazper, Brooks, Lincoln, and Ila; his sister, Alice Hodgin and husband James; and step mother in law, Gerrie Brooks.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point chapel.
The family will receive friends following the service. You may visit the family at 239 Boggs Rd., Thomasville, NC, prior to the day of the service.
