Ronnie Alan “Ron” Stuart of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the age of 65. He was born July 23, 1948 in Lubbock to Keith and Fay Stuart. Ron graduated from Lubbock High School in 1966 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. He joined the U.S. Army where he served in Germany during Vietnam. After honorable discharge, Ron returned to Lubbock where he was the parts manager at MTS. He was also active in the Lubbock Soccer Association where he coached and refereed from 1977 to 1992. Ron married Earlene Yates on April 4, 2004.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Earlene; children, Melinda Stuart, Jason Stuart, and Mark Stuart; mother, Ollie Fay Cooper; sister, Sheila Indachandr; and five grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Sharon Stuart.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations can be made to the Ho-Chou Family Foundation, 2202 Memphis, Suite 202, Lubbock, TX 79410.
