Ronnie Kenneth Steele

Ronnie Kenneth Steele, of Harrisonburg, VA went home on Friday, March 27, 2026 to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus.

Mr. Steele was born on January 31, 1943 in Front Royal, VA and lived in Middletown, VA after graduating from James Wood High School in 1961. He entered the United States Air Force and upon his discharge in 1966 he began his career in the Insurance Industry where he worked for 60 years.

Ronnie enjoyed watching old westerns, Perry Mason & car racing. He loved the Lord and his family with his whole heart. Ronnie was a member of New Hope Christian Church for over 48 years & also was a lifetime deacon. He was a member of The Gideons, American Legion, Elks and Moose. In Ronnie's younger days he served on the boards of Weekday Religious Education & the Parks & Recreation. He was also a member & President of Life Underwriters.

In 1970 he met the joy of his life Linda Kay Rudolph. They were married on December 16, 1972.

Surviving family members are his daughter Lisa Renee' Souder & husband Craig of Harrisonburg, his brothers Raymond Steele & wife Barbara of Middletown & James Steele of Star Tannery; his sister Patricia Nethercutt & husband Ron of Woodbridge and his nieces & nephews.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father James Steele, stepfather James Secrist & mother Virginia "Dixie" Steele Secrist and sister Nancy Keeler-Scott.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Tim McAvoy officiating. A burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 6-7 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
