Mr. Roosevelt Herrington, Jr. was lovely known as "Chicken". He was born June 27, 1951, to the late Roosevelt Herrington, Sr. and Geradine Dixon Herrington. He was the oldest of four children. On Monday October 13, 2025, at WellStar – Meical College Of GA, he was elevated to a higher position and chief usher in the Kingdom from labor to reward.

A soft-spoken man with a kind heart. Roosevelt became a member of the Williams Grove C.O.G.I.C. family where he served as the President of the Usher Board.

He was educated in the Jenkins County School System. Professionally he worked as a logger for many years as a heavy machine operator; later in life he became an entrepreneur specializing in landscaping, a profession he loved; taking on the care of his neighbors and friend's lawns.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Herrington.

He leaves a dedicated and loving wife of many years: Ruby Lee Herrington; two sisters, Dora Bradley of Atlanta, GA and Leola Cosby of Ft. Worth, TX; bonus sons, Terry Morris (Michelle) and Timothy Morris; a special daughter, Donna Wadley; grandchildren, Quianna Wadley, Jocylyn Summers, Timothy Morris, Jr., Eric Holley & Alisha Holley, and a host of great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Delores (James) Stokes and Lula Anderson Dawson, and a close friend, Robert Muckerson, Sr.
