Rory Eugene Monk, 41, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, left this world too soon on March 22, 2025. Born on January 21,1984, in Peoria, Illinois, to Frederick Monk and Barbara Monk Taylor, Rory spent his early years in Illinois before moving to Muskogee, where he graduated from Hilldale High School. A gifted athlete, he excelled in football and baseball, passions that carried into his adult life.
Rory was larger than life—funny, loud, and outgoing, with a heart as big as his personality. He never met a stranger and was known for his kindness, hard work, and impeccable sense of style. A true sports enthusiast, he loved fishing, playing ball, and coaching. Rory was a very hard worker and talented welder/fitter.
Rory is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Barbara and Jimmie Taylor; his children, Nikole Leann Monk of Savannah, GA; Riley JaLisa Monk and Jaxon Eugene Monk of Muskogee, OK; Tristan David Monk of Ft. Gibson, OK; and Brielle Dolores Grace Monk of Tulsa, OK. He was also blessed with one granddaughter. He leaves behind his siblings, Tyler Eugene Monk of Broken Arrow, OK, Jeanne Monk of St. Louis, MO, Krystal Jarret of Mustang, OK and Wendy Lehman of Mustang, OK. Aunts and Uncles Sue and Stan Watkins of Bloomington, Il, Jan (Nanny) and Lee Ries of Bloomington, IL, Don and Joann Rogers of Peoria, IL, Richard Monk of Peoria IL, Terry Monk of Peoria Il, and Cheryl Herrod of Peoria, Il, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. His Grandparents Dolores and Royal Kratz, Shirley and Gene Monk, and father Fred Monk preceded him in death.
Rory's charm and spirit will be missed by many, including the countless friends who adored him and, of course, the many ladies who couldn't resist his smile. His legacy of laughter and love will live on in those who knew him best.
