Funeral service for Rory Stephens, 60, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor and Reverend JArthur Grubbs, Eulogist.
Mr. Stephens, who passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born April 11, 1961 in Montclair, NJ.
Public viewing for Mr. Stephens will be Friday, May 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Stephens will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
Rory will forever be Loved, Remembered and Cherished by: three sons, Lacarris Jackson of Opelika, AL, Keith Cameron Stephens of Birmingham, AL and Rory Garrett Stephens of Oplelika, AL; granddaughter, Kisayeh Jackson of Baltimore, MD; mother, Anna Stephens of Opelika, AL; devoted friend and mother of his children, Lisa Jackson Stephens; one brother, Keith Ross Stephens of Opelika, AL; one nephew, Kofi Stephens of North Carolina; two nieces, Amma Stephens and Jane Stephens both of Opelika, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Stephens and Family. Rory and I were dear close friends back in the day, and regrettably lost touch as so often happens. He was a cherished and KIND KIND friend. My son is at Auburn and we recently had some "facebook exchange" and reconnected over the ties. I am sad at the loss of this dear man and am remembering him with such kindness. I send all my love to your family and WILL BE PRAYING for each of you.

Rory and I are high school mates of Montclair High School class of 1979 in Montclair, NJ. I'm so saddened about his passing. I echo the fond sentiments about Rory posted by others. I wish the family peace and comfort as you grieve.
