Rosa Mae Bailey

Rosa Mae Bailey age 95 of Selma, NC, passed away peacefully at SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health on 9/22/2024. She was born In Princeton, NC to the late Lula Rebecca Hinnant, and Amos G Batts. She received her early education in Princeton, North Carolina, graduating from Richard B Harrison in Selma, North Carolina. 

 

Rosa was a member of First Baptist Church Lawrence in New York for over 30 years where she served as a Secretary of the Usher Board. She retired from the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processor Clerk in 1989. After retirement, she moved back to Johnston County, where she became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church-Princeton, NC. At First Missionary Baptist Princeton, Rosa taught Sunday School, served on the Usher Board, sang in the choir, and was a Mother of the church. Rosa worked at JCATS (Johnston County Area Transit System) where she retired a second time 

Rosa enjoyed sitting on the porch catching the rays of sunshine

 

Rosa is survived by one son Billy Batts, one grand daughter Tyreka Denise Horton (Tasha) of Smithfield, NC, Four great grand kids Elijah Batts, Xavier Best, Mercedes Horton, Lyric Horton, and two great great grandkids Ava Best, and Kai Best; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
