Rosa Esteves Parga

Parga, Rosa Esteves, age 83, of Paterson, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Born in Sá, Portugal, Rosa came to the U.S. in 1972 and settled in Paterson, where she had lived ever since. A parishioner of St. Brendan & St. George Parish R.C. Church in Clifton, Rosa worked as a sewing machine operator for Ballet Makers, Inc. in Fair Lawn. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time and loved to cook, especially for her family and those around her. She was defined by her selfless nature and generous heart. She also cherished spending time with her dear grandchildren.

Rosa was the beloved wife of Adriano Costa Parga for 53 years. She was the loving mother of Beatriz Barros and her husband Paul of Woodland Park; Adriano Parga, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Toms River; and Bernadette Martins and her husband Carlos of North Caldwell. She was the cherished grandmother of Madelyn, Ryan, Luke, Sean, Noah, and Nathan. She was the sister of Ana Rodrigues, José Rodrigues, and Mario Rodrigues. She is also survived by several dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Abílio Rodrigues and by Emília Rodrigues.

Funeral will be departing at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Brendan & St. George Parish in Clifton. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
