Rosa Torres
June 28, 1974 – June 20, 2025
Rosa Torres, age 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 28, 1974, in Puerto Rico, Rosa spent much of her youth in Massachusetts. It was in Amsterdam, New York, where she met the love of her life, Carlos Torres.
They were married on June 29, 2002, and shared 33 beautiful years together, building a life centered around love, family, and resilience.
Rosa is survived by
Devoted husband: Carlos
Children: Pedro, Aida, Kayla, Carlos Jr., Deniliz, and Jacqueline.
A proud and loving grandmother to: David, Jemal, Imani, Leyani, Xavion, Xamarrah, Kyliah, Amun, Genesis, Marianah, and Beatrice.
She is also survived by her mother: Aida
Siblings: Hector, Carlos, Carmen, and Oscar.
She is preceded in death by her father, Hector; her beloved grandmother, Clara V. Aponte; and two precious grandchildren, Mya and Jordan.
Rosa was a radiant light in the lives of everyone who knew her. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she found joy in the simple things - creating beauty out of nothing, singing and dancing with abandon, and filling hearts and bellies alike with her unforgettable cooking.
Rosa's home was always open, her love was unconditional, and her kindness knew no bounds. Whether offering a place to stay, a warm meal, or simply her comforting presence, Rosa gave of herself selflessly and joyfully.
Her laughter, her creativity, and her unwavering compassion will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Rosa leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and love that will never be forgotten.
A gathering for family & close friends will be held Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Smith-Young's Funeral Home Chapel, 1005 Howard Street Clearwater, FL 33756.
In remembrance, we will wear royal blue.
