Rosalie Mary Ratcliff, lovingly known as Mammy, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away on December 26,2025, at the age of 87. With her passing, the world feels quieter and our hearts feel emptier. Mammy was more than a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great- great grandmother, she was home. Her arms were always open, her love was unconditional, and her presence brought comfort to all who entered her door. No one ever left hungry and everyone left feeling loved. Her kitchen was filled with laughter, music, and unforgettable meals, especially her famous "mammy fries", loved by everyone. Her heart was as full as her home. A women of many talents, Mammy found joy in fishing, crabbing and music, playing any instrument she could hold and creating rhythm wherever she went. She loved bringing people together, creating memories, and building bonds that will last forever. Gentle, kind and endlessly giving. Mammy showed us what unconditional love truly looked like. She made us feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her family. We will carry her spirit in their hearts forever. She will be missed beyond great measure.
Mammy is survived by her daughters, Eileen Lasseigne Wagner and Vickie Lasseigne Mayon. Grandchildren, Shane Rodriguez and Angie Rabb. Great grandchildren, Mercedes Daigle (Dudley), Tyler Rodriguez, Shyenne Scadlock (Jon), EJ Rodriguez, Allison Vining (Taylour) and Gabrielle Young (Shane).
