Robinson Funeral Home - MelroseRosalind J. "Roz" Kiley, 89, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at Osterman's Rest Home in Melrose.
Born to the late Joseph Kiley and Sadie Kiley (Bonfiglio), Roz dedicated over 30 years to serving her community as a mental health nurse. Her innate empathy and compassion extended beyond her patients to all living things. She loved her pets fiercely and found great joy in the wildlife that visited her yard.
A spirited traveler, Roz explored the world from Australia and New Zealand to Ireland, Fiji, and the Caribbean alongside her longtime partner and best friend, the late Bette Holloway. Whether she was reminiscing about her adventures or sharing her favorite Irish tunes, Roz's zest for life and music left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was the beloved sister of Gerard Kiley of Mashpee and his late wife, Marcia Kiley, and was predeceased by her sisters Laurentine Papalia (Kiley) of Watertown, Claire Kiley of Belmont, and Carolyn Kiley. She also leaves behind a niece, Lindsay Kiley of Sydney, Australia, several nephews including Robert Papalia of Dennis, Richard Papalia of Mashpee, Gerard Papalia of Hudson, Gene Papalia of Marlborough, the late Alan Papalia of Merrimack, NH, Gerard Kiley of Las Vegas, NV, and their families.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Osterman's Rest Home for the compassionate care Roz received from their dedicated staff for the past few years.
Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Roz's life during Visiting Hours at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Friday, March 6 from 10-11am, and for her Funeral Service at 11am. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
