Rosalyn Cornish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home - Columbia on May 8, 2021.
Mrs. Rosalyn Denise Cornish, affectionately known as Denise [Neicey] by her family and friends, was born April 30, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Mrs. Carolyn James and Mr. Moses Stevenson.   After an extended illness, she departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.

She was educated in the public schools of Richland County, graduating from C.A. Johnson High School.  She was employed for many years with Dixie Fish and Oyster Company, Revco Drug Store, and Columbia High School, all within Columbia.

Highly active in the community, her contributions to the lives of many included her tenure with Gandy-Griffin Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) – Post 4262 as a lifetime member.  Her involvement with community outreach endeavors, fundraisers, and parties brought measurable change to the communities.  And to no surprise, she always was a part of an organization that gave back which was her lifetime purpose!

Those who will cherish fond and precious memories of Mrs. Rosalyn Cornish are her devoted husband of 40 years, Mr. Zan Cornish Sr.; three loving children, Waukita (Lacey) Lewis of Murrieta, California; Zan Cornish Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina and Jessica Cornish of Chapin, South Carolina; one sister, Kiven Dennis of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one brother, Anthony Dennis of Columbia, South Carolina;   four loving grandchildren, Da'Zha (Demetri) Allen of San Bernardino, California and Lacey Lewis II of Murrieta, California; Jasmyn Simmons and Isabella Mickens, both of Chapin, South Carolina; two loving great grandchildren, Ariah Williams and Amere Allen, both of San Bernardino, California.  Additionally, a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends; all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met!
