Rosamond "Rosie" Lee Sturgis, 92, Farmington, MO., formerly of Hamilton, MO., passed away on September 8, 2025, at the Cedarhurst Senior Living.

Rosie was born on July 7, 1933, in Hamilton, MO., to George Milton and Sallie Edna (Groves) Sturgis. She graduated from high school and was employed at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton and also at the Hamilton Elementary School, Hamilton, working as a receptionist and teacher aide. Rosie considered herself a resident of Hamilton her entire life and Hamilton was her HOME.

She was a member of the Hamilton Methodist Church, the Hamilton Post #285 American Legion Auxiliary, and a past city council member for the city of Hamilton.

Preceding Rosie in death were her parents; her significant other, Wayne Greaves, whom she dated for 45 years; her brothers-J. Nelson Sturgis, George L. (Cork) Sturgis, and Clifford Sturgis; and her sisters-Margaret Sturgis Woodcock and Caroline Sturgis Arensmeier.

Survivors include her friends and neighbors as well as her nieces and nephews-Lee Woodcock, Sallie Robey (John), Kim Young (Tim), Guy Sturgis, Jeff Arensmeier (Alexia), David Sturgis (Linda), Angela Sulmar (Jeff), and Shelley Olson (Randall).

Graveside Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.

Memorial donations may be made in Rosie's memory to the Hamilton American Legion Auxiliary or the Hamilton Elementary School.
