Rose Merry was born September 6, 1945 in Florence SC the daughter of John Philip and Nettie Cunningham Farmer. She grew up in Florence
attending area schools and graduating from McClenaghan High School (1963). She attended Winthrop College and was graduated from Francis Marion College. She later received her Master's Degree from Francis Marion University. She taught Mathematics in the Dillon and Latta School Systems.
She was an active menber of Latta United Methodist Church and loved being a member of the Women's Bible Class. She enjoyed playing Bridge,
Crossword puzzles, being a member of Garden Club and the Wesleyan Circle.
Rose Merry was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, A. Vic Bethea lll. She is survived by a daughter, Wendy Bethea Carey (Brian) of Spartanburg, a son Andrew (Andy) Bethea (Ann) of Latta; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth C Self (Taylor), Caroline Carey(John Ewing), Patrick Carey, Nicholas (Nic) Bethea (Erika), Madison Smith (Alec), Philip Bethea, Morgan Oakes and Jackson Bethea.; two great grandchildren Carston Bethea abd McKenzie Bethea; a brother Phil Farmer (Beth), a brother in law
Dr Robert P Bethea (Leslie) ; dearest friend Sally Parham (Tommy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

I would like to send my condolences to your family. I recognized who this was as soon as I saw the picture of this beautiful lady, with kind, loving and caring spirit and a pearly white smile as being one of my favorite teachers ever when I attended Latta High School. She was very smart, gentle and helped everyone with whatever problems that her students may have had. I enjoyed being in her class because she was a wonderful teacher and an excellent mentor. Thank you Mrs. Bethea for being who you were. You was loved by many and be missed by many more. May you finally rest in peace. Sincerely, Ramirez Williams C/O 92
