Rose Marie Butler

Rose Marie Butler (McKnight), 92, predeceased by husband Jerry Butler, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Born on January 26, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late David & Christina McKnight. She was survived by her loving son Pierce Butler and his wife Jody Butler, daughter in-law Linda Butler, and grandchildren Shonna Mitchell (John), Tara, Mattera (Salvatore), and Jesse Butler. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren Taylor, Paige, Madelyn, Sal, Johnny, Riley, Olivia, and Luke. She was predeceased by her son Jerry and her grandson John. She was also predeceased by her siblings Robert, Dave, and Margaret.
After moving to Greenwich, CT in 1940 she lived there until 2013. In her final years she lived in Norwalk, CT to be closer to her family. Rose prided herself as a fulltime mother and wife. Once her sons were grown, she ran a daycare out of her home in Greenwich, CT. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed decorating her house (inside and outside) for each holiday. Her fridge was always stocked with Jello and Snapple as she was prepared for any guests to come over. Rose was a dedicated member of the catholic church. She has her normal pew at Sacred Heart Church in Greenwich and at St. Jerome Church in Norwalk. Rose will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Friends may call Monday, August 14th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 Am at St Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Rose will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Mary Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
