Rose Marie Carlin

Rose Marie Carlin, 91, of Union Twp., passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday afternoon, September 22, 2025, while under hospice care at her home.

Mrs. Carlin was born June 5, 1934, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Hink) Harvan.

Rose married the love of her life, Leo "Dutch" Carlin, on October 25, 1975, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2017.

Rose was a very active member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle – St. Mary's Church, where she donated much of her time and talents, especially while making palm crosses for the annual Easter Fest. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Rose is survived by two daughters, Christine Marino and Diane Seamans (Wayne); a son, James Farone (Marcia); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Harvan (Carol) and Frank Harvan (Lois).

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday (9-25-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home, with Deacon John Carran, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Union Twp.
