Rose Gaynor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meyers Funeral Home - Batesville on Sep. 24, 2025.
Rose "Rosie" Marie Gaynor, age 56, of Sunman, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22.

Born December 30, 1968, at Dearborn County Hospital, Rosie was loved by all who knew her, and lit up every room she was in. Everyone will remember her for her sense of humor, her ability to accept and love everyone, and her fascination with the weather! She loved caring for the elderly and those with disabilities over the years and worked for Ripley County Communications as a dispatcher, where she would record and post hilarious weather videos. She also loved sunflowers, her pets Ollie and Callie, and was absolutely crazy about her pride and joy, her grandson Easton. In her own words, she explained herself on social media, saying, "I'm simple… I love people… Life is short… Live it Big." And that she did!

She is survived by the love of her life, her best friend and husband, Michael Gaynor; her beloved son, Randy Merida (Shelby Orem); grandson, Easton Merida; step-daughter, Tori Gaynor (Bradley Maza); sister, Cheryl (Keith) Ellison of Milan; sister, Maggie (Ray) Hopping of Milan; sister, Mary Wainscott of Milan; brother, Jim (Barbara) Pickett of Aurora; sister-in-law, Joyce Pickett of Milan; sister-in-law, Tammy Pickett of Rising Sun; brother, Ted Pickett of Harrison; aunt, Shirley Pickett of Milan; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Jim and Alice Pickett, and siblings John Pickett, Francis Tilley Pickett, and Terry Pickett.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, at Meyers Funeral Home, with a visitation from 2–4 p.m., followed by a service at 4 p.m.

Please share a memory or message of comfort for Rosie's family in the online guestbook.
