Rose Gnivecki Obituary

Rose Marie Gnivecki
Born: February 7, 1936
Died: October 1, 2025
Rose Marie Gnivecki, age 89, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully October 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife to Louis Gnivecki who passed in 2005, and previously to Joseph Jurczynski who passed in 1968. Loving mother to Mary (Donald) Carlson, Gregory Jurczynski, Jean (Jeremy) Perrin, Richard (Susan Koleno) Gnivecki, the late Christine Gnivecki, and the late Perry (Mary Jane Berman-Gnivecki) Gnivecki. Beloved grandmother to 14, great-grandmother to 14, and great-great-grandmother to 5. Dear aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Anna Henk, and her brothers Franklin and Charles Henk.
Rose Marie was a proud resident of Johnsburg and a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended services for many years. She was an active part of her community, especially enjoying the events offered by McHenry Senior Services, where she participated whenever she could. Every Wednesday, you could find Rose Marie at Little Chef, gathered around a table with her three closest friends for their cherished weekly card game-a tradition filled with laughter and friendship. An avid reader, Rose Marie delighted in finishing two to three books each week. She loved the challenge of Sudoku puzzles and crosswords, which she always completed in ink-a testament to her confidence and sharp mind. A skilled piano player, she found joy in music throughout her life. Rose Marie had a generous heart, donating her time to The Sparrows Nest, where she both volunteered and supported the mission. In her later years, she explored the world alongside her dear friend Elaine. Their travels took them to remarkable places including Alaska and Hawaii, creating memories that brought her great joy. Her life was enriched by the many close friends and acquaintances she met along the way.
Rose Marie's life was filled with meaningful friendships, vibrant hobbies, and a deep commitment to helping others. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
