In loving memory of our mother, Rose Ann Heisler, 82, who passed away Tuesday April 4, 2023, at Twin Town Villa, in Breckenridge, MN. The love of her family was with her when she passed.
Rose was born in Esmond, ND on June 27, 1940, to Steven and Mary (Hager) Heisler. Rose grew up on a farm outside of Esmond, with 5 siblings, and went to a country school through the 8th grade. She was brought up knowing you had to work hard, and all the kids were given their daily chores to complete.
She married Jim Axtman, April.14, 1958, and they had 4 children together. During the early years Rose stayed home and took care of their kids and sold Avon for many years as a supplemental income and did daycare. Once the kids were older, she started working for 3M/Imation in 1980, in Wahpeton, ND. She continued to work for the next 25 years, retiring in 2005.
Rose loved to dance and listening to all kinds of music, she was an avid reader, with strong faith. Rose loved to cook, and her meals were memorable. The more people she had to cook for the happier she was. She loved the holidays and spending them with family. She took special joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had flowers growing in her yard and a large garden where she would spend hours canning the fruits of her labor in the fall. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She enjoyed hours of conversation with others, and you always felt welcome when you came to visit her. She was honest and told you like it was, you never had to wonder how you stood with her. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Rose is survived by her 4 children, Steven (Rhonda) Axtman, Medford, Wisc., Keith Axtman, Palmdale, Ca., Debbie (Kevin) Sittarich, Fairmount, ND., Pam Jensen, Rib Lake, Wisc. 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
