Rose Marie Lambert Holmes, 67, wife of Richard Clyde “Ricky” Holmes, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at MUSC.
Born on June 24, 1958, in Statesville, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Lambert and the late Della Marie Torrance Lambert. Rose was a devoted member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church, where her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active participant in the Adult 1 Sunday School Class, where she found fellowship and inspiration each week. Rose occasionally graced the church choir with her sweet voice and sang occasional solos. Rose also held a spot in the Singing Christmas Tree program for many years. She also contributed her time and energy to the Operation Christmas Child project, embodying the spirit of giving and compassion.
Beyond her church life, Rose found joy in the simple pleasures and creative pursuits that brought beauty and tranquility to her days. She loved the serene embrace of the beach, where she would relax in her beach chair, soaking in the sun and the soothing melody of the waves. A talented artist, Rose had a passion for painting, capturing the world’s beauty with every stroke.
Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; one step-daughter, Lindsay Rae Holmes (Matthew O'Neill) of Charleston; one grandchild, Ava Rose Cook; three step grandchildren, Shelby O'Neill, Johnny O'Neill and Matthew O’Neill, Jr.; three sisters, Barbara Sue Fisher of Georgetown, Julia Ann Lambert of Johnsonville and Deborah Robison of Georgetown; two brothers, Thomas Lambert (Joyce) of Taylorsville NC and William Lambert, Jr. (Eunice) of Harrisburg, NC; one aunt, Kay Carter (Doug) of KY; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Della Marie Torrance Lambert and William Thomas Lambert; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carolyn Holmes and Willie Holmes; and a niece, Donna Gregory.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Ringel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Conway.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.
