Rose Ann Lomax, 96, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Rose Ann was born on January 28, 1929, in Evansville to the late Oscar and Anna (Lenfert) Schnur. She married Russell "Bud" Lomax in 1949. Bud passed away in 2020, and they were married over 70 years. Rosie was also preceded in death by two infant daughters, Jane Elizabeth and Barbara Jean; two grandchildren, Rachael Mae Lomax and Carrie Kostrzebski; three brothers, Robert, Charles and Gene Schnur and three sisters and their husbands, Martha and Lawrence Spaetti, Mildred and Robert Alldredge and Marilyn and Alvin Teipe.

Surviving Rosie are six children, Karen Reis, Nancy Wisthoff and her husband, Bruce, John Lomax and wife, Patty, Joan Simpson, Tom Lomax and wife, Valerie and Dan Lomax and wife, Wendy and three sisters-in-law, Pat Schnur, Doretha Schnur and Peggy Schnur. Rosie was blessed with nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Rosie had many talents, being a seamstress was one of her best. She sewed a lot of clothing and did many alterations over the years for many of her family, friends and acquaintances.

She also created a tradition of "Sundy Night Dinners" for her entire family and that tradition held for over forty years. And yes, she was an amazing homestyle cook.

There will be a memorial service held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Lowell Will officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
