Rose Marie Lotts, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1938 in Apolona, Indiana to Emery and Dollie M (Durbin) Terry. She met and married Carl Martin Lotts, who preceded her in death in 1987. They had 3 children together, Gail and Martin, who passed at 11yrs and 13 yrs old respectively, and David who survives along with his wife Shellie (Kuhnle) Lotts.
Rose and Carl loved playing guitars together at their favorite campground, family functions, and sometimes friends would come over and they’d play songs together. They even wrote music of their own. As David grew up, he began playing drums and she would go every chance she could to watch him play. To say she was a proud mother is an understatement! When she couldn’t physically attend church any longer, David would set up his phone on a tripod and live stream him playing worship in church. Sometimes she would get a bonus view of her grandson, Skyler, playing guitar alongside of David.
Rose spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. Her favorite hobby was crocheting and collecting fashion, porcelain, and vinyl dolls. She made clothes, dresses for her porcelain and fashion dolls as well as baby clothes/blankets and Afghans. Rose had 4 grandchildren, Devon, Bethany, Skyler, and Zachary, and 4 great grandchildren, Holly, Zackary, Jackson, and Billy, who were the joys of her life! She played a vital role in the raising of her grandchildren as their main babysitter. She treasured all of them very much and attended all their extracurricular activities as long as she could.
Surviving are all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, her son and daughter-in-law, a stepson, Phillip (Pat) Lotts, and 4 sisters, Norma Stapleton, Patty James, Violet Adkins, and Gertie Leinebach. Several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Susie Henson and Betty Lasher, 1 brother, Emmitt Terry, and 1 stepson, Stan preceded her in death
A visitation for Rose will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 12:00pm-3:00pm at Summit Church, 6102 Sunnyside Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46236 with a funeral service at 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Oaklandon Cemetery.
