Rose E. Renger

Rose Elaine (Steinberg) Renger was born October 16, 1943, in Ledyard; the daughter of John and Agatha (Trenary) Steinberg. Rose grew up in Ledyard and graduated from Ledyard High School in 1961.

On June 22, 1968, she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Renger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard. Together they were blessed with three sons: John, Jeremy, and James. Rose especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and her winters spent near the ocean in Florida with her husband whom she affectionately referred to as "Joey."

A devoted homemaker, Rose also worked seasonally for 15 years at Green Giant and 16 years crafting Christmas wreaths at Elmore Nursery. She also found joy in sewing, knitting, gardening, canning tomatoes, cooking, as well as working on crossword puzzles and attending Mass with Joseph. Rose was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard, where she was active in the Rosary Society. She also served her community as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Rose passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Atria Park of St. Joseph's in Jupiter, FL. She was 81.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph, of Jupiter, FL; sons, John (Xin) Renger of Boca Raton, FL, Jeremy Renger of St. Paul, MN, and James (Helen) Renger of Bloomingdale, IL; nine grandchildren, Abbigail Renger of Boca Raton, FL, Amanda Renger of Boca Raton, FL, Bailey Renger of San Francisco, CA, Hannah Renger of New York, NY, Jonathan Renger of New York, NY, Ian Renger of Chicago, IL, Lillian Renger of Bloomingdale, IL, Matthew Renger of Bloomingdale, IL and Leah Renger of Bloomingdale, IL.

Preceding her in death are her parents, half-brother, Larry (Margaret) Trenary of Blue Earth, MN and infant sister, Delilah.

A funeral Mass for Rose will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at Divine Mercy Parish ~ Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM, Friday, August 1st, 2025, at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Bancroft and will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday.
