Rose Ann "LeMasters" Riggs

Rose Ann (LeMasters) Riggs, age 83 of Wheeling, WV passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center.

She was born December 17, 1942 in Cameron, WV the daughter of the late Wiley and Alvena Sidel LeMasters.

Rose was a graduate of Wheeling Business College and went on to work as an associate sales manager for GC Murphy and later as a bank teller for WesBanco and was a member of The First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Wheeling.

Rose had a love of animals, especially her cats, enjoyed reading, trips to the beach, cheering on the Mountaineers, and helping people. But her true love and enjoyment were her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Pete" Riggs, Jr. whom she married on December 9, 1961; and her eleven brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Craig) Knight of Wheeling; two sons, James W. Riggs of Wheeling and David (Kerrie) Riggs of Wheeling;; nine grandchildren, Jarred Strawn, Alyssa Hough, Courtney Williams, James B. Riggs, Jordan Riggs, Zack Knight, Justin Riggs, Alex Knight and Jesse Riggs; four great grandchildren; a sister in law, Kathy (Richard) Strawn of West Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11am with Rev. Kenny Hardway officiating.

Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to an Animal Shelter of the donor's choice.
