Rose Josephine(Vetro) Sampieri, formerly of Bridgeport and a resident of Monroe, CT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20, at the age of 88.
Born on September 7, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT, Rose was a devoted wife for 67 years to Phil Sampieri. She was a loving mother to Matthew, Phil Jr., Michael(Candy), Vincent(Trish), and Kenneth(Rebecca) Sampieri. Rose took immense pride in her role as grandmother to Mark, Jenna(John), Olivia, Alexis, Vincent, Josephine, Sebastian, Justin(Ally), Taylor, Michael, Santino, Nicholas and Stacey and proud great-grandmother to Marcello, Kiernan and Delaney.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Phil, her mother Armanda and father Charlie Vetro, sister Lily Fasano, brother-in-law Mike Fasano, brother Matthew Vetro, sister-in-law Jeanette Vetro, brother-in-law Ed Boyle, and her beloved aunt and uncle Millie and Joe Keegan. She is also survived by her sister Vera Boyle, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose found joy in cooking, not just for her children but for her friends, neighbors and anyone who walked through her door. Her meals were more than food, they were expressions of love, comfort, and community. Her home was full of warmth, filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the sounds of laughter. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.
A funeral Mass for Rose will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew's Church in Bridgeport.
