Rose V. Szauer, 92, passed away at 12:55am Wednesday, June 23, 2022 in Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Rose was born on August 14, 1929 in South Bend to Paul and Victoria Buczolich. She was employed by Koszegi and Associates. Rose was a long time member of Our Lady of Hungary Church and the St. Anthony Society Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family especially taking care of her two grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
On May 21, 1955 in Our Lady of Hungary Church she married Stefan Szauer. He died on July 22, 2014. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers Frank J. Buczolich, Michael Buczolich, Matthew Buczolich, and Paul Buczolich.
Surviving are a daughter Susan (Brian) Forsberg, a son Steve Szauer, two grandchildren Stephanie and fiance' Paul and Bjorn Forsberg and a great-grandson Maximus. She is also survived by two sisters in law Evelyn and Mitzi Szauer a brother in law Matthias Pinterich and many neices and nephews all in Austria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, June 27, 2022 in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 4:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
