Rose C. Varrone

Dateline-Stratham, NH Rose C. Varrone, 95, died March 10, 2012 peacefully at her home in Stratham , NH . She was born November 1, 1916 in Brooklyn , NY , daughter of the late Giacomo Ferrara and Madeline (Caliendo) Ferrara . Rose was one of four children growing up in Brooklyn , NY . In 1940, she married Albert C. Varrone and they resided on Stagg St. in Brooklyn until 1959. They moved to Deer Park , Long Island, where Rose was a faithful longtime Communicant of St. Cyril and Methodius Church . In 1991, Rose moved to Stratham , NH to live with her daughter, Madeline and son-in-law, Allen. She was a devoted Communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter , NH . Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was well known for her hospitality at family events and her great Italian cooking. She will be fondly remembered for her delicious meatballs. She was pre deceased by her husband in 1976, and her three siblings. Rose is survived by her daughter, Madeline A. and Allen M. Ferrari of Stratham, NH, her son, Angelo R. and Karen Varrone of Atlanta, GA., her daughter, Marianne and Anthony F. DeGennaro of Davenport, FL., 8 grandchildren, Anthony DeGennaro Jr., Michael DeGennaro, Carissa Murray, Danielle Gibbs, Nikki Hill, Andrea Varrone, Clara Hunter, and Evan Hunter, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St. , Exeter , NH . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church, Exeter , NH . Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery , Newmarket , NH .
