Roseller "Roy" Magtajas, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. Born on December 16, 1958, in Bohol, Philippines, Roy lived a life full of color, love, pride and dedication to his wife and son.
A Chemical Engineering graduate of Mapua University, he was often referred to as a genius by close friends and family. Roy was an excellent artist, who had several exhibits in Cultural Center of the Philippines and in New York. Roy was a lifelong NY Giants & NY Knicks, NY Rangers, TB Bucs and TB Lightning fan who never missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided him through life's many challenges and triumphs.
His nurturing spirit, warm hugs, and ever-present handsome smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Roy's love for his family was boundless-he's the ultimate and number one fan of his son, Zachary. Phone calls to close relatives always starts with a "DUDE. Or what's the latest news?", every visit, and every sweet moment shared with his brother and sister in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews and numerous grandnephews & nieces are cherished.
He embraced life in Florida, especially the beaches, sunshine, gardening and warmth it brought. Roy had a sweet tooth for cakes and boba milkshakes. A killer poker player, he will let you win first few times but be assured, you'll be left empty-handed. He is larger than life, full of light, gratitude and positivity.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Marian, son, Zachary; his siblings Bojie, Farah, and half-brother Jun-Jun, sisters-in-law Portia, Darlene and Malot and his aunt Nati. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist in New Tampa on Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 AM.
