Rosemarie Bavaro-Puig Obituary
Rosemarie Bavaro-Puig (nee Guidera), 88, passed from this world and entered eternal grace on April 7, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1936 in the Bronx, N.Y. Always regarding herself as something of a city girl she grew up in New York City and Edgewater, NJ, and over the years also resided in the NJ towns of New Milford, Lodi, Union, and Mountainside. The last 3 years she was a resident at the Brandywine assisted living facility in Brick, NJ. As a young woman, Rosemarie was celebrated for her natural talents as a singer and performer and appeared with various singing groups and in theatrical productions. She ultimately focused on raising a family and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her large family, relishing in big Sunday dinners and blissful summer weekends at the New Jersey shore. She always maintained her love of music and the performing arts and cherished attending Broadway shows and films. A devoted Catholic, faith was an important part of Rosemarie's life, and few things brought her more joy than family celebrations at Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter, which of course always included lavish dinners, as she was widely recognized as a gourmet. At the Brandywine she made many friends with whom she enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, and dominos. Rosemarie was predeceased by her husbands Vito Bavaro (her childhood sweetheart) and Frank Puig, Sr., and by her parents Anthony and Josephine Joan Guidera, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She is survived by daughter Linda Moschovas and husband Teddy, son Joseph Bavaro and wife Suzanne, daughter Susan Montesano and husband Robert, son Tony Bavaro, son Frank Puig and wife Rosaria, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her siblings Barbara Fuchs, Patricia Eitner and husband Joseph, Peter Guidera, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home at 115 River Rd., New Milford, NJ. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 12 at 10:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church at 256 Azalea Dr., New Milford, NJ, followed by interment at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 10 Serpentine Rd., Tenafly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Heart Association.
