Rosemarie Conlon Obituary

Conlon, Rosemarie
ALBANY - Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rosemarie Conlon, died on October 1, 2025. She turned 100 years old on May 22, 2025, and in May of this year celebrated that achievement and her remarkable life at a 100th birthday party with 60+ family and friends.
Rosemarie was the heart and soul of our family and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, James Conlon; her parents, David and Martha Schneider; a sister, Jean (deceased husband, Perry) Goldman; and a brother, Victor (surviving wife, Jo-Anne) Schneider. She is survived by her brother, Steven (wife, Glenda) Schneider.
Together with her husband, they raised their five children in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. Their children and families that remember her with love are as follows, Linda (deceased husband, Raymond) Chiras; with three daughters, Jessica (fiance, Keith), Jacqueline (partner, Chris), and Lauren; Gary (wife. Robin) Conlon, with two sons, Scott (partner, Amy and daughter, Devin) and Jason (wife, Nicole and three children, Cayden, Addison, Ryan); Alan (wife, Tara) Conlon with three sons, Shaun (wife, Katherine and two sons, Henry, George), Joshua (wife, Katie and three children, Max, Naomi, Logan), Matthew, (wife, Rachel and three children, Brynn, Jonah, Gavin); Brian (partner, Betsy) Conlon, with daughter Christina; Benjamin (wife Laurie) Conlon, with three children Christopher, Nicholas, Brittany (partner, Brian). Rosemarie was also an aunt, and is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Rosemarie was born in New York City, moved to the Albany area with her family early in her childhood, and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. Prior to her marriage, Rosemarie proudly served as a WAC during WWII. Later in life she very much enjoyed a trip to see the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC with other veterans. Over her years of life, she worked in several types of jobs involving accounting and bookkeeping, including for the State of N.Y., H & R Block, and at Niskayuna Family Practice for many years. She also worked as a volunteer for many years at the Albany Airport. After her husband's death, she lived at the Beltrone Living Center (55+ housing) for 20 years. For the last five years, she has resided at The Massry Assisted Living Residence, where her cheerful presence will be greatly missed.
Nothing was too good for her children or precious grandchildren. When great-grandchildren arrived, Rosemarie's huge heart and warm smile welcomed them. Rosemarie would have wanted us to celebrate her life, not mourn our loss. Out of respect and love, we honor that request, despite the deep hole her loss has left in our hearts. Rosemarie, your life is to be celebrated. Look down on us to see what your incredible love has created. Visiting hours Sunday, October 5 from 12 to 2 p.m., Daly's Funeral Home, 242 McClelland St., Schenectady, N.Y., followed by a short service and remembrances. Burial with a short service will take place on Monday, October 6 at 10 a.m., at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Albany, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated.

Yesterday

Rosemarie was a kind, thoughtful person who wore a smile as well as a positive attitude, always. I knew her long ago when she lived at Beltrone. She was a volunteer in what was then called the Osteoporosis Wellness/Strong Bones Program. I have looked and looked but cannot find the poem she let me copy back then, sorry. It was on a blue sheet of paper and it helped remind me to stay positive. I believe she kept her copy of it in her wallet. It was from when she was in the service...She admired and appreciated all of her family. She valued you. Thank you for sharing Rosemarie with us. Her life was a blessing to so many of us as her actions matched her words in volunteering, caring for others. My sincere condolences.
