Rosemarie (Migliore) Palminteri-the heart and matriarch of our family-passed peacefully on July 19, 2025, at her home of 60 years. Until the end, she remained authentically herself: keeping an immaculately clean home, eating sandwiches with more mayo than anything else, getting heated over the happenings on General Hospital, with her blush and lipstick always within reach, never missing a birthday card-and, of course, the laughing attacks… lots of them.
Even when she was very sick, she would be heartbroken to hear of someone else's illness-rarely acknowledging what she herself was going through. Not because she was avoiding it, but because of the fierce strength that defined her.
A longtime resident of
New Hyde Park, NY, Rose shared a devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Joe Palminteri, and together they raised two wonderful daughters, Joanne and Maria. She was adored as Nanny Rose by her six grandchildren-Annie, Frankie, Joey, Melissa, Allison, and Jamie-and cherished as great-grandma to Ava, Joey, Mila, Ellie, and Luca. And of course, her great-granddog, CJ, who gained 12 pounds during her time living with Nanny thanks to the daily cold cut treats.
Nanny Rose loved children and was a kid at heart-her vivid imagination and silly personality often left you wondering who the real kid was. If she built a tent in the den, she was the last one in it.
She also leaves behind her sons-in-law, Frank Venezia and Eric Della Bartolomea; her grandchildren-in-law, Dominique Venezia, Craig Cook, Nicole Venezia, and Dolores Corrado; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Maryann Pandolfo, Geri Fenton, Kathy and Jerry Suppa, Michael and Maryann Migliore and brother-in-law, Frank Tomolonis.
She leaves behind many, many friends who were like family-from her Bushwick High School days, to colleagues she met at work, to the friends she traveled with-you were each part of the beautiful fabric of her life.
She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Joseph Palminteri, her parents, Michele and Maria Migliore; her brother, Saverio Migliore; her beloved sisters-in-laws, Lily Migliore and Joanne Tomolonis; nephew-in-law Ed Pandolfo and her grandson, John Della Bartolomea.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and-most importantly-unwavering love for her family and friends…and also really amazing cleaning skills and a home she took so much pride in that was spotless but filled with so much love.
