Rosemarie Greitl Reese, 89, of Coudersport, PA passed away on October 16th, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Munich, Germany on September 17th, 1936, he daughter of Wilhelm and Marie Wurm Greitl and stepfather Jakob Grietl.

In Munich she married Fordyce “Al” Reese Sr. on September 5th, 1958. After his military career ended, they settled in Coudersport for the remainder of their lives. For many years she was the cleaning lady for several local businesses and was a waitress at Mickey’s Diner. She worked at Hallmark Cards and a print sign making company prior to moving to the United States from Germany. She had a wide circle of family and friends

A true decorator at heart, she found joy in filling her home with cherished nic-nacs and vibrant seasonal décor. She enjoyed looking at her family’s holiday light display at Christmas time while watching Hallmark movies. A woman of strong Catholic faith, she honored her beliefs through thoughtful acts of devotion, including her beautiful tradition of bringing flowers to the church for every holiday. She enjoyed dancing, shopping in Olean, and eating out at restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gunther Greitl, a sister, Brigitte Greitl Seize, a sister-in-law, Sonia Greitl, and brother-in-law Franz Seize all of whom resided in Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2011 after 53 years of marriage, 2 daughters, Roswitha (Donnie) Wilson, and Marie Rose Reese, and a son, Fordyce “Allie” Reese Jr, a son in law Frank Battaglia, a son in law Kenneth Ruby Sr., and a daughter in law Wanda Long.

She is survived by her brother Wilhelm (Hildi) Greitl II of Munich, Germany, two sons, Erhard Reese and David (Susan) Reese of Coudersport, and two daughters, Loretta Battaglia of Slippin Arkansas, and Ellen (Larry) Goodwin of Coudersport. Her grandchildren Kenny (Liza) Ruby, Joseph Hughes, Frank (Larissa) Battaglia, Timothy (Amanda) Battaglia, Larry (Michele) Goodwin, Lacey (Holdin) Cisneros, Lance (Hannah) Goodwin, Heather (Mike) Postlewait, Amanda Wehler, Chad Barr Jr., Kristin (Brett) Drugg, Justin (Mande) Crowley, Heidi (Brody) Vasko, Alyssa and Ayden Reese and several great grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with nieces, and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday October 24th, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday, October 25 from 10 to 11 am at which time her funeral will follow at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home 210 N. East Street Coudersport, PA. Burial will be at the Reesville Cemetery in Costello Pennsylvania.
