Rosemarie Sheehan Obituary

(Kathleen). Born August 7, 1929 to William and Agnes Abbott, she was predeceased by Jack, her
husband of 67 years, by her brother, William Abbott, and by her grandson, Brian (Hoff). She is survived
by her sisters, Kathleen (Mitz) and Mary (Whelan) and by her ten children: Jack (Marianne), Tom (Vicky),
Dennis (Pat), Brian (Sila), Kevin (Linda), Tim (Kathy), Kelley (Bill) Hoff, Dan (Michelle), Colleen (Late John)
Croge, and Matt (Erin). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous
nephews and nieces. We remain amazed by how organized she was in managing the day to day lives of
the family. Later on, all birthdays, anniversaries and other important events were remembered with a
card and a gift. The family home was always a beehive of activity and our parents loved it. She was an
avid reader with an active book exchange centered there for the family. Guests were welcomed and
many times pop ins came for dinner. She would joke that the grocery bill never went down long after
we all had all moved out.
After raising her 10 children, Rose was the long time front desk person and goodwill ambassador at the
Stratford Swim Club. She and her husband, Jack, were regularly in attendance at her children's and
grandchildren's swim meets there and for many sporting events at Sterling High School over a period
that spanned more than 50 years. She will be sorely missed but her devotion to family and selflessness
will remain an inspiration to each of us.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 9:30 AM 11:30 AM
at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 55 Warwick Road, Stratford, NJ. The funeral mass will follow. The
burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin, NJ
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Brian "Macky" Hoff Memorial
Scholarship, Sterling High School 501 S. Warwick Rd, Somerdale, NJ 08083.
