Rosemary Kaden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Orender Family Home on Aug. 19, 2025.
Rosemary Theresa (McGrath) Kaden, 81, of Manasquan, NJ passed away on August 17, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ due to complications from a head injury suffered in a fall the previous month.

Rosemary was born in Elizabeth, NJ on August 4, 1944, to Mary (nee Morrissey) and Edward McGrath, both deceased. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raymond Joseph Kaden of Manasquan, NJ, and her daughters Eileen Kaden Dean and Jennifer Carbone and Jennifer's husband Todd, as well as her sister Kathleen Cronheim, and Eileen's children Emma Rose Dean and Oliver Raymond Dean.

After graduating from St Mary's of the Assumption High School in Elizabeth, NJ in 1962, where she met her future husband, Rosemary attended and graduated from St Peter's School of Nursing in New Brunswick, NJ in 1965 as a registered nurse; Rosemary spent the next several years working in the Intensive Care and Coronary Care units of several hospitals in Northern New Jersey.

She married her high school sweetheart, Ray Kaden, in 1966; and they welcomed their two daughters over the following five years. She continued her nursing career as a Lamaze instructor in New Brunswick and later started the Lamaze/Parenting program at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ while raising her two daughters in nearby Manalapan, NJ. Rosemary then decided to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology earning first her undergraduate degree from Georgian Court University, then her master's degree from Farleigh Dickinson University and finally her doctoral degree from Seton Hall University in 1998. She and her family moved in 1990 to Spring Lake, NJ. She worked at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in the outpatient clinical psychology department until she retired in 2002.

Rosemary was also a volunteer Emergency Services provider for the American Red Cross in Ocean Township, NJ helping victims of fires and floods throughout Central NJ. She also served for ten years as the Director of the Stephen Ministry program at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan, NJ, a program which provided emotional support services to the homebound and families dealing with crisis. She and her husband have been active congregants of Holy Trinity for over 25 years.

Roe's passions included her children, her grandchildren and her extended family, of which she had 52 first cousins, Irish humor and British comedy, Country Western music, Broadway theatre, extensive flower and vegetable gardening, voracious book reading and travel with her family throughout the United States and internationally. Blessed with a wry of humor, Rosemary was quick with a quip and saw the humor in most situations. Her daughters called her "Mrs. McGyver" since she could handle any emergency situation.

For the past twenty years, Rosemary and her husband have resided at Four Seasons at Wall, an active over 55 age community where they have developed many great friendships.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday August 22, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736.
