Rosemary Campagna Klitchman, age 99, of Indian Head Park IL, passed away on May 6, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life.
Rosemary was born August 6, 1925 in Chicago IL. She was a devoted mother of Rick (Leslie Krouk) Klitchman, Gail (Tom) Hoyum, Robert (Elena) Klitchman, Russell (Jackie) Klitchman, and Carol Stefan, aunt of Debra Vanderhoef and James Campagna, dedicated grandmother of Keith (Rosie) Beste, Stacia (Scott) Klasen, Tara Klitchman, Rachel Klitchman, Stephen (Niki) Stefan, Jennifer (Patrick) Ryan, Kelsey Klitchman, Tyler Klitchman, Emma (Brady) Hostetler, Kevin Klitchman, Max Klitchman, Sam Klitchman, Lucy Schlacks, Phoebe Klitchman, and Wyatt Klitchman, and loving great-grandmother to Gabriella and Carson. They were the roses of Rosemary.
Rosemary was born to Mary and Salvatore Campagna. She was raised in Chicago, graduated from Marshall High School, and was an accomplished roller skater, winning numerous awards at roller skating dance competitions. She was a long time resident of La Grange Highlands and Indian Head Park raising her five children and developing friendships that lasted throughout her life.
She worked for many years as the office manager at LeMar Flowers in LaGrange. She enjoyed the family atmosphere and those work relationships became friendships that lasted forever. She was always seen helping throughout the florist during busy times and was particularly adept at making beautiful ribbon bows that adorned the many holiday flower arrangements. Throughout her life she was always willing to lend a hand and offer advice.
Rosemary also worked at the McDonald's Corporation offices for 25+ years. She was extremely dedicated and gained many long-lasting friendships that continued until her passing. She loved working for, and going to, McDonalds. Grandchildren benefited from many Happy Meals.
After retiring from McDonalds, she continued to spend her time working at Purple Monkey Studios, a company co-owned by her son, Russ. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with everyone, passing on her business skills and developing new friendships.
She enjoyed vacationing in Michigan with family and connecting with friends she had known throughout her adult life. She was a pretty good water skier in the past but later enjoyed going for boat rides, hanging out at the beach, and watching the beautiful Lake Michigan sunsets.
Rosemary was a long-time member of Lyonsville Congregational Church, where she was active at the parish and spent several years as the treasurer. She also volunteered at several charities and was especially fond of her time at Miracles in Progress, an organization that was close to her heart.
She was a devoted and proud Grandma, cheering her grandchildren at sporting events and school activities. She was a thoughtful and caring person, never forgetting a birthday, holiday or special event, and was a regular at greeting card shops, making sure she was prepared for every occasion.
She will be remembered, loved, and missed by all that were ever blessed to cross her path. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Miracles in Progress (
miraclesinprogress.org).
A private family burial has been scheduled, and a Celebration of Life service for all friends and family will be held at a later date.
