Rosemary Lanham, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on May 26, 1937, in Brown, West Virginia, and spent her final days surrounded by family at her daughter's home in
Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Rosemary dedicated 26 years of her life to serving others as a Nurse's Aide at United Hospital Center, where she retired with a legacy of compassion and care. Her gentle spirit and dedication to her work left an indelible mark on those she served and worked alongside.
Beyond her professional life, Rosemary had a passion for crafts, woodworking, and camping. She found joy and solace in creating beautiful pieces with her hands and cherished the tranquility of nature. Her creativity and love for the outdoors were shared with her family and friends, leaving behind treasured memories and handmade keepsakes.
Rosemary pursued her education in Business Administration, which complemented her nurturing profession and personal endeavors. Her wisdom and guidance were valued by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bradey Lanham; her parents, Ardie and Helen Harbert; and her sister, Thelma Allport.
Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl Monaghan and son-in-law David of
Jacksonville, NC; her son, William Lanham of Lumberport, WV; and her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Croy of Wilmington, NC; Ashley Padgett of Franklinton, NC; and Brittany Swiger of Fairmont, WV. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
A celebration of Rosemary's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and honor the remarkable woman she was.
