Rosemary Porrazzo, 103 of East Haven, went to be with the Lord peacefully from home on January 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Porrazzo, the day before turning 104 years old. She was born January 3, 1918 in New Haven to Matteo and Mary (Caporossi) Berardesca. Rosemary is survived by her other son, James Porrazzo and granddaughters, Ashley and Michelle Porrazzo of East Haven, a brother, Matthew Berardesca of Guilford and a sister, Veronica Guarino of Hamden along with several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved family dog, Nicholas. Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Porrazzo (1997) and a brother, Anthony Berardesca.
Rosemary in her younger years enjoyed going to the Atwater and East Haven Senior Center. She was also a Member of the East Haven Ladies Guild. Her favorite hobby was doing arts and crafts, reading mystery books and line dancing. She loved holiday theme parties with her family and friends and you could always find her dressed for the occasion ready to dance to the music. For the past eight years she was instrumental in the development of many young children's lives as an Assistant Teacher in Nancy's In Home Daycare. She also got great pleasure teaching CCD and was an avid church goer. Many Thanks go out to all her home health aides especially Janice McFarlane who gave such exceptional care and love over the years.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul with burial following at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. All services were under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
