Rosemary Smith, aged 68, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born on June 11, 1957, Rosemary lived a life filled with dedication, compassion, and love, touching the hearts of many throughout her years.
Rosemary made significant contributions as a Dietary Clerk at Mountain Manor Nursing Home, where her commitment to the health and well-being of residents reflected her caring nature. She was a respected member of the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church, where she found community and friendship.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Wendell Robert Smith, and their children, Vanessa (Jeremy) Hopkins and James Caden Smith. Rosemary’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Courtney (Jose) Galvan and Davina Rose Smith, Savannah (Brent) Burke, and her great-grandchildren, Jose Mateo Galvan and Gia Rae Galvan. She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Kimberly Lambert, and a host of loving nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, James Lambert and Sadie Hopkins Lambert, and her siblings, Sherry Lambert and Milford Dale Lambert. She was also preceded by two of her children, Rachel Roberts Smith and James Robert Smith, who greeted her with open arms.
A visitation will be held on September 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church with church services beginning at 7:00 PM. The funeral services will be September 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church. Following the service, Rosemary will be laid to rest at Annie E. Young Cemetery.
Rosemary Smith’s warmth, strength, and love will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the memories she created.
